Vicki Eddy

Vicki Eddy is a career physical therapist who continues to approach innovative patient care with the zest of a new graduate.  As a physical therapist, subspecialties include but are not limited to spinal mobilization and strength training.  Vicki’s career has taken her through a variety of doorways  including working in respiratory care with a specialty in chest physical therapy, providing in-home care for physically challenged patients, four private practices,  specialization in joint mobilization with specific attention to the spine, and most recently since 2001, Vicki opened One on One LTD, a private practice combining and incorporating the professions of massage therapy, personal training, and physical therapy.  Because One on One does not accept insurance reimbursement, practitioners can spend the time and focus required to provide a standard of care otherwise difficult to reproduce in most typical traditional physical therapy settings.

When working through the massive insurance changes in the late 1980’s through the 90’s, Vicki became particularly frustrated with her inability to provide adequate care based on the requirements dictated by insurance companies.  The dream to be able to provide a consistently high standard of physical therapy treatment, without compromising herself as a skilled provider, evolved into the concept of One on One LTD.  Simply put, all clients at One on One receive one full uninterrupted hour of patient care by the same therapist, each time they are scheduled.  For Vicki, this dream has been realized.

As Vicki’s career has evolved, so has her incite into the understanding of physical pathology and its functional affect on  patients.   Now dedicating more than 75% of her time to strength training, Vicki has a keen understanding of why individuals develop orthopedic and soft tissue injuries coupled with the process of aging and disuse.  Her physical therapy experience serves as the backdrop for the development of safe and appropriate exercise programs enabling individuals to optimize their physical health, particularly for individuals over 50 years of age.

“In 2006, at the age of 66, I underwent spinal surgery, twice, first for lumbar stenosis and the second time for cervical stenosis.  Two years later, with the help of Sue McNatt (for physical therapy), and Vicki Eddy (for strengthening and conditioning), I am back on the tennis court playing singles twice a week. I feel stronger and more fit than I have in many years.”
